Ron W. Dowda | IT Project & Technology Operations Leader
As an accomplished IT Project Manager and IT Services Engineer with more than three decades of hands-on leadership across data centers, complex infrastructure deployments, hardware rollouts, and multi-site technology initiatives, I have enjoyed wearing many hats supporting my IT career. Known for my steady leadership style, calm execution, and unmatched commitment to customer satisfaction, I have built a career delivering high-impact IT projects for organizations ranging from municipalities and higher-education institutions to global military operations, Fortune-level environments, and commercial businesses.
My experience spans every phase of the project lifecycle - scope development, hardware and network installations, vendor coordination, site readiness, cutovers, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and long-term support. Across all roles, I have been recognized for managing projects with precision, keeping timelines on track, and ensuring stakeholders stay informed through clear, consistent communication.
I designed and led Smart City network installations across two municipalities, (Helena & Elaine, Arkansas), partnering with city officials, merchants, and engineering teams to build reliable public-access networks with minimal disruption. This was accomplished by a Microwave Network design across the Mississippi River.
I previously managed large-scale operations for U.S. government and defense environments, maintaining secure and non-secure networks for hundreds of military users within NATO HQ. My leadership ensured near-perfect uptime across data centers in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait, where mission-critical reliability was non-negotiable. Whether improving operational workflows, implementing new systems, or coordinating with international teams, while consistently delivering results under intense pressure.
My background also includes extensive work in enterprise data center environments, including Microsoft, where I oversaw installations and repairs for more than 5,500 servers and Cisco equipment. Earlier in my career, I managed enterprise IT support teams across the Texas region for Northrop Grumman, leading 18 engineers and supporting clients across multiple cities, (San Antonio, Austin, Houston, South Central Texas area).
Beyond the technical scope of my work, I enjoy being a natural mentor and educator. I designed and taught hands-on IT training programs at the University of Arkansas, helping shape the next generation of IT professionals and strengthening the region’s technical workforce. Some Community Service memberships are President of the Helena Rotary Club, Board Member of the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Helena Museum, Texas Master Naturalist, and an Outdoor Education Instructor for TP&W.
I bring a leadership style grounded in accountability, integrity, and practical problem-solving. I support the kind of project manager who communicates early, adapts quickly, removes obstacles, and takes full ownership of outcomes. My ability to build trust with teams, customers, and leadership describes me as an invaluable partner on any project.
With a proven record of delivering results, a deep technical foundation, and decades of real-world experience, I will be well-positioned to support an IT Project Manager role or an IT Operations Management role and lead complex technology initiatives with confidence and excellence.
